JaMichael is a Jazz/Neo-soul Flutist, songwriter/composer from Rochester NY, working between
New York and Los Angeles. After studying at the Eastman school of music pre-college program,
JaMichael went off to Berklee college of music as a North American tour scholarship recipient,
studying Performance and Electronic production & design with a minor in dance at the Boston
Conservatory. During his time in Boston, JaMichael collaborated with multiple dance companies
in the city, received opportunities to showcase his cross-over work of Jazz and dance at the
Museum of Contemporary Art in Massachusetts and performed at events and festivals around
Boston like the Bean town jazz fest , Roxbury fest and weddings. After Graduation, JaMichael
moved to Brooklyn, NY to earn his master degree at New York University. JaMichael had
opportunities to perform alongside Grammy award winning songwriter Desmond Child, Solange,
Samora Pinderhughes, DOMI, and travel to perform at the Rochester Jazz festival and The
Montreux Jazz festival. JaMichael is now focusing on his artistry as a Musician and
choreographer with his band between New York and Los Angeles. JaMichael takes influence
from Robert Glasper, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Tigran Hamassyan to combine Jazz with neo-soul and
Indian flute techniques. JaMichael’s current project is to intertwine forms of Jazz and dance to
create a company where he is the choreographer, composer and performer
