Grace Freeman is a singer-songwriter from Southern California,
performing under the pseudonym Gal Musette. Her music blends
baroque-pop melodies with elements of French chanson, folk, and
modern instrumentation, creating a distinctive sound. Over the years, she
has opened for renowned artists such as Macy Gray, Suzanne Vega,
Rufus Wainwright, Gaby Moreno, and The Magnetic Fields.
Gal Musette’s debut album, Backwards Lullaby (2021), features a vocal
duet with Rufus Wainwright on the track “Oliver.” Her latest release,
Pendulum (2023), explores themes of mental stability, weaving moments
of peace and turmoil into a cathartic musical experience. Currently, she
is working on a third album, slated for release in 2025, and a new
project, Tin Angel, a trio of female songwriters from the LA folk scene.
In addition to her solo work, Grace is a versatile musician, playing
guitar, keyboard, and providing backing vocals. She is an in-demand
session and live performer, currently touring the U.S. with Australian
indie-pop band Vacations.
