Los Abandoned (Acoustic)

Los Abandoned is one of the most innovative and influential bands in latin alternative music starting in the early 2000s. Hailing from Los Angeles, their bold electicism, multicultural ethos and spanglish lyrics helped pave the way for the bands liek La Santa Cecilia and Chicano Batman.

The band formed in 2001 as the brainchild of songwriting duo Lady P and Don Verde. Their highly concept/lo-fi take on bilingual pop music and their dynamic performance style quickly earned them the attention of the LA Times, NY Times, LA Weekly and OC Weekly, Los Abandoned released two EPs demotape and self-titled EP (EMI Mexico) and one full length album Mixtape (Vapor/Sanctuary).

In the year since their split in 2007, the legen of Los Abandoned has only grown. Their music and story are taught in the curricula of various universities including UCLA, USC, and CSUN. In 2011, they reunited for a sold-out event at LA’s The Echoplex. In 2019, the band and their iconic song “Van Nuys (es very nice)” was featured in an LA Times pullout special called “50 Songs for a NEW LA” alongside Ice Cube, Weezer and Lana Del Rey. In 2020, they released the single “Suena La Alarma” to critical acclaim. And in 2021, Los Abandoned returned to the stage at the Novo Theater in Los Angeles with La Santa Cecilia.
