Ecuadorian-American folk rock troubadour Enrique Cesar isn’t chasing answers, he’s chasing songs. The Florida native, now based in Los Angeles, pairs a road-worn, choir- trained voice with a well-traveled little black Martin guitar, shaped by years of gigs, residencies, and festivals across Miami, London, and LA.
Blending bluegrass, folk, and rock traditions, his playing swings between frantic and delicate, carrying lyrics pulled from reckless youth and looming questions about what comes next. After leading the 7-piece band Sunflower Ashes and earning a songwriting degree in London, Enrique relocated to Los Angeles in 2020, where he’s continued to
evolve as a co-writer, producer, and curator.
His debut live album The Burrito Years captures the raw immediacy of his solo acoustic performances in one-take recordings. His latest release, “Brick and Mortar,” is a homesick love ballad featured on Tiny Tape Mix Tape, Vol. 1, a cassette-recorded
compilation spotlighting Los Angeles’ independent songwriting scene.
