Born & raised in Los Angeles, CA, Trip Carter is no stranger to the music scene. Having
started getting into music at the age of 10, Trip picked up the bass and it was quickly
apparent his talents. He soon earned a jazz scholarship to University of Southern
California and thanks to their all encompassing music program, was able to work on his
pop, R&B, indie, & hip hop songwriting, while still heavily involving his bass. Upon
graduation in 2016, the Trip Carter moniker was born. Through hustling bass gigs left
and right to avoid a day job, he was introduced to Sabrina Claudio. Quickly he became
her studio and touring bassist, which was able to fund his own solo projects as well.
Around the same time Trip also started growing with Felly, and even musically directed
the band for the upcoming tour. Flying back and forth between the 6LACK tour with
Sabrina, and Felly’s tour, there was no shortage of real stage experience with Trip also
taking most of the opening slots. With COVID19 hindering the touring process, Trip was
able to really take the time to build his own sound and increase his release schedule.
With his musical talents, charisma, charm, and drive, the only direction Trip Carter is
going, is up.
