Plaza de la Raza Youth Mariachi Ensemble
Plaza de la Raza Cultural Center is home to the Youth Mariachi Ensemble, made up of a talented
group of young musicians who participate in the center’s School of Performing & Visual Arts
Program. Educator and professional musician, Christian Ortiz is the conductor and leader of the
ensemble made up of young musicians who range in ages 13 to 19 years. Plaza de la Raza’s
award-winning Mariachi students are Cultural Ambassadors having performed on stages
throughout Los Angeles County.
