Pat Birk

Pat Birk is singer-songwriter from the coast of southern New Jersey. With a sensibility shaped by the lyricism of John Lennon and Paul Simon, the melodic musings of Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson, and the earnest romanticism of Mac DeMarco, Birk’s style dances between folk, soul, and soft rock, touching on heartbreak, hope, and the spaces in between. Drawn to music from an early age, he began piano lessons at 4 years old, and performed at Carnegie Hall at age 12. By the time he was 11, Birk took an interest in guitar, captivated by the unbridled expressiveness of Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, and The Who, and began learning to play from his father. Within a few years, he was performing in bands and writing his own material. While studying film at NYU, he continued to write and perform, ultimately deciding to pursue a music career. In 2021, he moved to LA. In the time since, Pat has become a fixture in the LA music scene, regularly performing at shows around the city, including Open Folk, Writers Round LA, and Monday Monday. His latest single, “anna,” is available to stream on all platforms. It is a simple country waltz, a haunting meditation on lost love and reconciliation with the shadow of what is left.
