Cory B. Clay & The Twains

Cory B. Clay is the lead singer, storyteller, rhythm guitarist, songwriter and musical director for The Twains. His professional music career began in Saint Louis as an original and founding member of the group Autumn’s Child, recording with Jim Mayer of Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefer Band and subsequently touring regionally in the Midwest. The band was featured frequently for sold out performances at The Sheldon Concert Hall. Cory moved to Los Angeles in 2002, where he founded the Country Rock group Emergency Steakhouse. In 2007 he and guitarist Dan Delcastillo created The Twains. From the very beginning Cory B. Clay & The Twains have been bringing people together in the spirit of good times and great music, and it all started in front of a capacity crowd in Los Angeles on the Sunset Strip, in The House of Blues Foundation Room. The sound of the band is a mix of Americana, Country, Rhythm & Blues and Rock n’ Roll, with a strong West Coast influence. The Twains have played sold out shows on the West Coast and in the Midwest as well as in Tennessee. Some of the venues the band has been featured at include The Roxy, The Key Club, The Mint, The Cowboy Palace Saloon in Los Angeles, Honky Tonk Central, The Wheel, Tootsie’s and Rippy’s in Nashville, Schlafly Saint Louis (including headlining the Hop in the City Festival), 1860s Hardshell Cafe, the Missouri State Fair and the Hannibal BBQ Festival. When he is not writing, recording or performing music Cory is creating as a filmmaker, and often with artists that have influenced the sound of the band; Shooter Jennings, Blackberry Smoke, The Black Crowes and Sturgill Simpson to name a few. Other musical influences include: Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Tom Petty, The Band, Uncle Tupelo, Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, The Rolling Stones, Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan, Louis Armstrong, Buddy Guy, The Grateful Dead, Dr. John, Leon Russell, Merle Haggard and George Jones. The band has had original material featured on Sirius XM Radio as well as placement on TV shows and films. Cory B. Clay currently resides in Ventura, CA, and Saint Louis, MO, offering duo, trio and full 4-6 piece band performances.
