Ben Matin

Currently an LA musician. Ben Matin comes from truly musical roots. A mother who played clarinet and a father who played trumpet in the Army band back in the 80s, both of them first chair. His father led a jazz trio in and around New York and his aunt is a world-renowned flutist.
Ben’s grandfather was Art Ryerson, a session guitarist in New York playing with Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, and Fats Waller… to name a few.
While the musical lineage may be rich, life has not been an easy road for this musician. His journey, however, has culminated in the realization that music is the gateway for him to step into his true self. Sat there in front of an audience, honesty is what people want from a singer and Ben Matin’s performances are as honest as it gets. There’s some spirit that burns on in Ben or perhaps it’s simply in the blood. Regardless, the homage to his past is clear in his work.
