Tone’s career began at Power 106 FM in Los Angeles, where he built a strong foundation in the
music industry. Over five years at the major radio station, he developed a refined ear for music
and gained valuable experience navigating industry standards. During this time, Tone
discovered a passion for identifying emerging talent and helping artists elevate their sound,
connecting them with top music executives. This early work sparked his interest in artist
management and long-term development.
With the support of Janet Jackson and her team, Tone was given the opportunity to bring talent
to WrightCrear Management, marking his entry into the world of music management. One of his
early milestones included working on the release of Mateo’s debut album, an experience that
proved both professionally and creatively rewarding. Mateo’s subsequent signing to Interscope
Records provided Tone with deeper insight into the inner workings of major labels and artist
positioning.
Tone’s career accelerated when Damien Smith of Azoff Music Management brought him on to
oversee day-to-day operations for globally recognized artists including Jennifer Hudson,
Raphael Saadiq, and Earth, Wind & Fire. In this role, Tone contributed to major album releases
and earned his first album credits on certified gold projects. His work extended beyond
management into curating unique event experiences that fused music, brand partnerships, and
art, fashion, and creative direction.
During his 12-year tenure with the Azoff organization—an affiliation that continues today—Tone
toured internationally, spending five consecutive years on the road with Earth, Wind & Fire. In
2019, while on tour, he was personally recruited by Russell Wilson and Ciara to serve as tour
manager for Ciara’s tour. Despite an already demanding schedule, Tone successfully helped
route and manage tour logistics.
That same year, Tone expanded his production experience when he was tapped by Kanye
West’s team to produce Sunday Service, contributing to its execution during a pivotal period of
its run.
In 2020, following the pandemic, Tone shifted focus toward building his own platform, launching
1251 Avenue in partnership with UME/UMG. Through this venture, he has continued developing
artists while producing shows and tours for major acts including Cardi B, Glass Animals, and
Dave Matthews Band, among others.
Today, Tone remains committed to creating opportunities for emerging talent, curating
performance spaces throughout Los Angeles when not on tour. Guided by a philosophy of
service and mentorship inspired by Damien Smith, he continues to bridge artistry, culture, and
industry at the highest level.
