Montana natives turned Angelenos, Joselyn & Don’s intoxicating music is a walk through
mountain wildflowers and desert Joshua trees. The duo’s 2020 debut album “Soar” and 2022
“Seeds & Bones” EP have been warmly received by critics and independent radio worldwide.
Publications like Americana UK, Twangville, Americana Highways and others praise Joselyn
Wilkinson’s “”one-of-a-kind voice,”” Don Barrozo’s “”fluid guitar work”” and the “”rich, lyrical, wild,
spiritual imagery”” of their music.
Joselyn & Don’s 2024 single “Choose Love (feat. Chris Pierce),” was featured on NPR
syndicated shows including “The Midnight Special” and “The Great American Folk Show” and
charted on Folk Radio. It will be followed by a full album in 2025 that’s produced by Graham
Richman (Lizzie No, Bartees Strange) and mixed by GRAMMY-nominated Kevin Smith (Ben
Harper) with playing by longtime Jackson Browne band members Mauricio “Fritz” Lewak
(drums), Bob Glaub (bass) and Greg Leisz (pedal steel). Featured guests on the upcoming
album, “Lost & Found Highway,” include Cristina Vane, Chris Pierce and Abby Posner.
Audiences embrace Joselyn & Don’s authentic sound, engaging live show and well-written tales
of the search for identity and home on the back roads of the American West. Their song
“”Workin’ the Hi-Line”” is about Don’s Filipino immigrant father who spent his young years on the
Hi-Line railroad before becoming a bandleader in Great Falls, Montana and pursuing his
American dream. Their song “Girl From the Mountain” explores the push and pull of belonging
to two places and the pull of home, a theme that winds throughout their new material.
Their acoustic songs draw comparisons to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, while their soulful
folk-rock material channels the 1970’s Laurel Canyon scene. Ultimately Joselyn & Don’s songs
celebrate and inspire connection – to one another, our deeper selves and to the natural world.
Joselyn & Don have toured listening room theaters throughout the country and supported
notable artists including Chris Stills (with Lukas Nelson), Willie Watson, Kyshona and Jess
Williamson. Joselyn & Don performed as an Official Showcasing Artist for the 2024 FAR-West
Folk Alliance in Los Angeles and Montana Performing Arts Consortium in Montana, and the
2025 Durango Songwriters Expo.
Joselyn is also the founder of legendary women’s global fusion band, ADAAWE, who toured
extensively, released two albums and appeared with luminaries such as Stevie Wonder and
James Brown. In the mid-2000s, Joselyn released two solo albums and performed with her
band Wild Roots. Don, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer who got his musical start
touring with the world champion Blue Devils Drum Corp, also serves as film editor for
television’s long-running animated series “The Simpsons.”
