Longer Bio A Boy Named Madelyn stole their brother’s bass in 2020. Originally from Ohio, they discovered a love for guitar and songwriting when they moved to Los Angeles. A childhood spent writing poems and a young adulthood spent telling jokes inform Madelyn’s lyrics-forward music, which explores love, boredom, change, and the contents of their kitchen. Audiences say they’re a bit like John Prine, Adrianne Lenker, and Weird Al. People Keep On Telling Me Time Passing Makes It Better, A Boy Named Madelyn’s DIY self-produced bedroom folkrocknroll record, was released at the end of 2024. It’s available at aboynamedmadelyn.bandcamp.com. The boy loves playing music in community at the Lazy River Open Mic on Tuesdays and loves to jam with their bands: Knees, Trees, and 3 Beers.
